![]() This ribbon cutting was dedicated to the new and improved airport terminal in Prescott Regional Airport. This first class airport servicing the entire area was also selected as the Airport of the Year for 2020. The inside of the terminal has a modern design with beautiful high wooden ceiling beams as displayed in the above picture. This long term project had a timely ending due to construction costs soaring this last year, in many cases materials have more than doubled in cost. Mayor Greg Mengarelli thanked all the past city council members, current city council and past Prescott Mayors for their hard work, dedication and planning of our brand new Airport Terminal. Many key individuals who helped with the airport design and construction were in attendance along with the Prescott Chamber of Commerce board members/ ambassadors and notable local representatives. Also in attendance was Mike S-Dao with United Airlines West Coast as their Senior Regional Manager. A prominent individual in overseeing the development of the new airport was Dr. Robin Sobotta, the Airport Director and past professor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. The Prescott Chamber of Commerce recently had the pleasure of partnering with someone in our community, Glenn Haselfeld, to reward our firefighters at Station 71 with gift certificates they can redeem at local businesses. This was the second presentation in the pilot project and we are happy to report successful results!
The total amount fundraised from our community reached $1,200 to give $25 gift certificates to each of our local firefighters. We thank everyone that donated in our community and give our thanks to the wonderful firefighters who continue to save our people and our homes.
