This ribbon cutting was dedicated to the new and improved airport terminal in Prescott Regional Airport. This first class airport servicing the entire area was also selected as the Airport of the Year for 2020. The inside of the terminal has a modern design with beautiful high wooden ceiling beams as displayed in the above picture. This long term project had a timely ending due to construction costs soaring this last year, in many cases materials have more than doubled in cost. Mayor Greg Mengarelli thanked all the past city council members, current city council and past Prescott Mayors for their hard work, dedication and planning of our brand new Airport Terminal. Many key individuals who helped with the airport design and construction were in attendance along with the Prescott Chamber of Commerce board members/ ambassadors and notable local representatives. Also in attendance was Mike S-Dao with United Airlines West Coast as their Senior Regional Manager. A prominent individual in overseeing the development of the new airport was Dr. Robin Sobotta, the Airport Director and past professor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Prescott Mayor Greg Mengarelli will host a “Town Hall Meeting” to discuss mental health services and resources to citizens on Tuesday, April 6 at 1 p.m. at Prescott City Hall, Council Chambers, or via Zoom.
There will be a panel of speakers including Leslie Horton, Director of Yavapai County Community Health Services, April Rhodes, Chief Executive Officer for Spectrum Health, Tamara Player, Chief Executive Officer for West Yavapai Guidance Clinic, representatives from Yavapai Justice and Mental Health Coalition, and a representative from Terros Health. “As we are coming out of the worst of the pandemic, I think it’s important to talk about how our citizens and their families are doing, and what resources are available,” said Mayor Mengarelli. “We have a great group of resource people ready to share some insights, and answer questions.” Citizens will be able to participate via video conference, by phone, or in person. Questions will be taken following the speakers, using the Chat feature on Zoom. To RSVP for in-person attendance at the event, please email: [email protected] or call 928-777-1248. |
