Honoring Firefighters who Made the Ultimate Sacrifice on September 11, 2001

The 9-11 Memorial Stair Climbs are not timed race events, but a way for firefighters and the community to honor and remember the FDNY firefighters who selflessly gave their lives so that others might live.

Members of the public are invited to join area Firefighters to climb the stairs or walk the 1.9K  Walk of Honor at the Prescott Valley Event Center (PVEC) multiple times for a total of 110 flights in honor and remembrance of the 343 firefighters from the Fire Department of New York who died on September 11, 2001. Each participant will have the honor of carrying the name Badge of one of the fallen heroes in the families honor. We will also honor the 37 Port Authority Police Officers, 23 Police Officers, 2 Paramedics, and our 19 Granite Mountain Hotshots. The Stair Climb benefits FDNY CSU and the programs provided by the NFFF to support the families of our nation’s fallen firefighters.

So all that attend can honor our heroes we will also have a 1.9K walk of honor at the arena for families, kids, and people not wishing to climb steps. There will be an honor guard presentation and a moment of silence for all who attend and this is open to the general public with no admission charged. All the climbers/walkers will be in the same arena to encourage each other and there will be displays for all to enjoy with 9/11 information.

Please join us on Patriots Week in Prescott Valley with an emotional start at the Prescott Valley Civic Center with the Healing Field Opening Ceremony presentation at 9:00 am  and then with a procession being led by Central Yavapai Fire Department at 10:00 am to the Prescott Valley Event Center. Participants will check in or register for the event at the arena from 10am until 11am The 9/11 Stair Climb Opening Ceremony will begin at 11:00 am and the Climb/Walk starts at 11:15 am.
