One of Prescott’s most popular events was June 27 – 28, 2015! Thousands enjoyed a weekend of live bluegrass entertainment! The festival is held each year on the south side of the Courthouse Plaza. Five bluegrass bands performed Saturday, June 27 between the hours of 11:00 am and 9:00 pm (with a dinner hour break from 6:00 – 7:00) and Sunday from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm.
Saturday night’s headliner band will once again be The Sonoran Dogs from Tucson. Their performance last year was outstanding and they promise to outdo that this year with some special guests joining them on stage. Other groups this year include Blue Moon, The Central Valley Boys, Burnett Family Bluegrass and The Vintage Martins. The exact order of performances is posted on the Bluegrass Festival website.
There is no admission charge to attend this festival. Bring some blankets and lawn chairs, then pick a spot on the shaded courthouse lawn and enjoy the music! There will be several food booths available, or take a break and enjoy one of the fine restaurants downtown.
The Bluegrass Festival is made possible by funding from the City of Prescott’s tourism funds and festival funding from the Arizona Commission on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts. There are also several local businesses and organizations that provide financial or in-kind support to make this event successful. A complete list of donors is also on the Festival’s website. Additional funds are raised with a raffle and the sale of festival tee-shirts and caps. See you downtown June 27 – 28!
