We're closing in on August quickly! Aug. 5 is a great chance to meet the candidates running for Mayor and Council. We're co-sponsoring a candidates' forum at Yavapai College in the performance hall from 6:30 - 8:30 pm. For those arriving early, the candidates will be in the lobby from 5:00 - 6:00 pm.
This is one of my favorite times of the year in Prescott. This coming weekend, you can enjoy two full days of the best in bluegrass at the annual Bluegrass Festival--a free concert all day Saturday and Sunday. And, right on the heels of bluegrass comes the 122nd annual World's Oldest Rodeo June 29 - July 5, including the rodeo parade on July 4.
We have sent letters to all 13 candidates for mayor and city council, inviting them to interview with our Government Affairs Committee and Board of Directors. This is a first step in getting to know all the candidates and determining where they stand on some of the key issues in our community. We are planning to post an on-line voters' guide on the Chamber website later this summer.
The Chamber Blog is the latest addition to our means of communication - if you're a member of the Chamber, tell us what's on your mind - if you're just visiting our website, tell us a little bit about yourself and let us know if you're planning to visit Prescott.
